Making a commitment
Recall the time you responded to the altar call. Wasn't it amazing? Things began to change in your life. We spoke with better judgment, made better decisions, experienced blessings upon blessings and we had the fire of God burning within us. Its great waking up in the morning and we juz find life filled with direction and hope. Life was good, wasn't it?
Bad things do happen to good people. Things planned for do collapse. Academic results may not always be presentable. In short, we do get sad and depressed. And its during such times we choose to either stay and brave the storm, or get blown away by it.
KK once said, "we need to ANCHOR ourselves in God". Coming from the navy, it brings a lot of significance to me. A ship, no matter how big, is subject to the conditions of the sea. In dangerous situations, the waves can actually steer the ship off course and it may be actually heading for unsafe areas. But a ship anchored will be stable and though it may move a bit due to the waves, it will remain in the safe region. What does this mean in our christian walk?
God says in His Word, that if we put Him 1st, all the rest will be added on to us. Well, conversely, if we put ourselves or our interests above His, we will be certainly lost. Its very tempting when we are faced with difficulties in life we choose to be sad or worried or depressed. Certainly, its much easier to juz ignore the problems and dwell in them.
But i have seen time and time again how God is a faithful God. I will never be here saying such things if not for His goodness and love. For those who know me a bit longer, you will know i was very, very shy when i was small. I will never speak unless talked to, and thus i dun even need to say how much conversations i had with girls. Its always an uphill battle trying to have simple conversations with people. But now, i am actually fond of singing! Amazing! Whats more, i am taking this passion seriously by signing up for lessons. Its a breakthrough i really appreciate and i din achieve this by my own strength. Continually, God encouraged me to keep on keeping on. Move that mountain ahead aside! Release the glory in you!
I am very grateful for the people in my life. They taught me so much. Jim says that we add value to ourselves by building others for success. I apply this constantly and it really works. The results are juz amazing. You win, and so does others. And the success of others makes your life happy. I juz love it. Who says you can't have the cake and eat it? With God, all things are possible.
My qn for u as you leave this blog is, are you anchoring yourself in God? Are you making a committment saying, Jesus, I will follow you. I sincerely hope you will be encouraged by this testimony and make a firm decision to always seek Him. Thanks for reading.

We do indeed need an anchor and the only one that can provide us with all the security we need is the God that never fails us! Amen! He is our stronghold and our provider. Hey Zhitai maybe one reason why I can identify with you is because I used to be an introvert person too... you do not believe you can ask Kwong Hui and Zhenghao. I am very shy talking to girls and would not even dare to initiate a conversation. Last time when Kwong Hui brought me to church I remember how I kept avoiding the cell group members and do not even pick up their phone calls! God really opened up my life and showed me a world of love and care which I would never had imagine of before.
