My thoughts this Christmas
Felt something stirring in my spirit these two days as i held the burning candle in my hand. Every candle, no matter big or small, tall or short, dull or colourful, gives off warmth and light. There is a noticeable difference in the atmosphere when a candle burns. People around feel the warmth and see the light.
It is a fact that everyone is unique in our CG. Some have higher academic qualifications while some don't. Some are talented in regards to media production while some are better in business.
As i saw the candle burning, i just felt that all of us in the Cg have the ability to shine wherever we are. If we allow Jesus to lead us and we have a willing spirit that says, "here is my life, Lord. I surrender to you but Lord please show me your Way and let me be a blessing to others", I believe we can all be giants in the land. How brightly a candle burns does not depend on the wax, but the amount of strings it has. Similarly, how much we shine for Jesus is independent of our qualifications but directly dependent of our humility and degree of surrender to Him. I believe that our CG can have more leaders emerging.
As i saw the candle growing shorter, i remembered a show i watched at yr 2000. The show was millinieum love2000 or er qian nian zi lian. There was a part where the male lead answered the female lead this question," why does a candle burn when it knows its going to die anyway? Why not just stay where it is and then it won't die?" He answered that even though the time is short-lived, the candle can still show its inner glory by burning itself out.
I believe all of us have a certain desire to be a somebody. We want a sense of glory and honour in our lives that make us stand out above the crowd. The bible says this,"39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it." I feel that as we allow Jesus to be the centre and anchor in our lives, we will walk according to our destines. Our dreams and visions will come to past and when we look back during our twilight years we will not feel we wasted our lives but instead feel a deep satisfaction we have completed our tasks on Earth.
This Christmas is a really a special occasion. I can really sense the Holy Spirit working in and around my life. Let us all be lovers of the Word and His presence once again and grow deeper in the Spirit. Praise the Lord!
